The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Chicago O'Hare Intl Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/il/chicago/KORD. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Official observations from Chicago-area stations, including Midway International Airport, recorded a daily maximum of 86–87°F on August 7, locking in that outcome at full market-implied probability. Forecasts from the National Weather Service and AccuWeather had converged on mid-80s readings under partly sunny skies with southerly flow and dew points supporting heat indices near 95°F, consistent with the slightly above-normal pattern after several cooler days earlier in the week. Lake Michigan moderation and typical August climatology (average high near 83.5°F) kept values from exceeding the observed range, while model consensus left little room for lower or higher bins once the day’s data arrived. Any challenge would require a post-analysis revision to the official high, an uncommon occurrence given standard verification protocols.
