This market will resolve to "Yes" if IMAX, Universal Pictures, or an authorized theatrical distributor officially announces an extension of the 70mm IMAX run of "The Odyssey" beyond its current end date of September 16, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The extension must be officially announced between this market's creation date and September 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to qualify. A one-time special, encore, private, or otherwise isolated screening will not qualify. The regular public 70mm IMAX theatrical run must be extended beyond September 16, 2026 to qualify. If only the standard digital IMAX run (not the 70mm film format) is extended, this market will resolve to "No". An official extension announcement made within the qualifying window will immediately resolve this market to "Yes". The resolution sources for this market will be official announcements from IMAX Corporation, Universal Pictures, or other authorized theatrical distributor.Persistent sell-outs weeks in advance and "historic" demand have driven trader sentiment toward a slim edge for another extension of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in scarce 70mm IMAX format. The film, shot entirely on IMAX cameras and playing in just 25 U.S. theaters, saw its run pushed from mid-August to September 16 after tickets vanished rapidly following the July 17 release. With only a limited number of venues capable of projecting the format, momentum from premium ticket sales and audience willingness to travel supports the 56% implied probability. However, the September 18 arrival of Resident Evil in IMAX screens introduces a hard scheduling constraint that could cap further additions. Traders are watching for any late-August updates on remaining capacity or box-office trajectory before the current window closes.
