Regional elections to elect the Regional Council of Region Jämtland Härjedalen, Sweden are scheduled to take place on September 13, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of Chair of the Regional Board of Region Jämtland Härjedalen following the 2026 Swedish regional elections. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally elected by the relevant regional council as Chair of the Regional Board. Any interim or caretaker Chair will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Chair takes office by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Sweden and Region Jämtland Härjedalen; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The upcoming September 2026 Swedish regional elections, held concurrently with national and municipal votes, will determine the makeup of Region Jämtland Härjedalen’s council and set the stage for post-election coalition talks that select the regional board chair. The current majority arrangement among Social Democrats (S), Christian Democrats (KD), and the Left Party (V) has produced a fragmented field of contenders, including sitting chair Bengt Bergqvist (S), vice chairs Lars-Erik Olofsson (KD) and Robert Hamberg (M), and Elin Hoffner (V), with trader prices clustered tightly around these and numerous other names. This balance reflects broad uncertainty over seat outcomes, potential coalition realignments, and the absence of decisive polling or party announcements that would favor one candidate. Any shift in local voter turnout, new polling aggregates, or early signals from party leaders about preferred leadership could quickly widen spreads by clarifying likely governing majorities.
