The tight spread between 0.4% (35.5% implied probability) and 0.3% (31.5%) reflects uncertainty over energy volatility—gasoline prices fell again—and persistent but easing shelter costs alongside a 0.2% core reading. Traders weigh softening labor market signals and the Fed's data-dependent stance against potential tariff pass-through and seasonal effects, while awaiting the next employment report and Jackson Hole remarks for clearer rate-path clues. Market-implied odds aggregate real-capital bets on these variables without assuming a specific outcome.
