This market will resolve according to the listed video game that wins the 2026 Game Award for Game of the Year. If a game is not officially nominated for the 2026 Game Award for Game of the Year when the 2026 nominees are announced, the corresponding market will immediately resolve to "No". In case of a tie for the winner, this market will resolve in favor of the nominated game whose listed title comes first in alphabetical order. If, for any reason, no winner is declared by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from The Game Awards, including data from their website (e.g., https://thegameawards.com/) and the live broadcast of the award ceremony; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The Game Awards 2026 Game of the Year market reflects a wide-open race in August, with numerous titles clustered at similar implied probabilities amid limited precursor results and early critical buzz. Strong critical reception and innovative gameplay for releases like Resident Evil Requiem and 007 First Light have kept them competitive, while high-anticipation titles such as Grand Theft Auto VI face eligibility risks tied to potential late-year delays. Industry voters often reward fresh franchises and polished experiences over sequels, but no single narrative has yet consolidated support from guilds or critics' circles. Momentum could shift quickly with fall releases, major review scores, and The Game Awards eligibility cutoff in December.
