Justin Schlageter, a 25-year-old German ranked around 1,066 in the ATP and 335 in the ITF, faces 19-year-old Italian Gabriele Crivellaro (ATP ~1,251) for the first time in the round of 16 at the ITF M25 Fano on clay. Schlageter enters with mixed recent results on the ITF circuit, including a loss in Metzingen, while Crivellaro arrives after a straight-sets win over Lorenzo Carboni in Bolzano but an earlier defeat to Adrian Andreev. The clay surface and Italian venue may favor the younger home player’s baseline game and recovery, though Schlageter’s extra years of experience at this level represent the main counterbalance in a closely matched encounter with no prior head-to-head data.
